Crestwood has an onsite gym. And it’s open for use to all Crestwood owners, residents, and guests.
When it comes to condo amenities, one of the most requested is a fitness facility. It provides a service to the residents, increases the value of the units, and adds to renter appeal.
There will be other posts with more info on the equipment and other details, but here’s what you need to know if you’re ready to workout in the Crestwood gym.
Where was there space for a gym?
As everyone knows, Crestwood is full of unconventional nooks and crannies, which is part of the charm. Turns out in typical Crestwood fashion there was some dead space behind the washer and dryer in the laundry room. It would require some cleaning and planning, but the HOA Board determined this space could be repurposed into something useful.
The cleaning project revealed a storage area with a collection of artifacts that were reminders of Crestwood’s rich history. Some of these things very old and VERY interesting. But when the dust cleared it was determined there was enough room for a fitness area.
The washer and dryer were over 2 decades old and the HOA Board had been planning for a replacement. One of the big reveals from the clean-up was a failing hot water heater. More on updating the laundry facilities in a later post.
Where is the Gym? And How Can I Access It?
The gym is located in the laundry room, which is at the north backdoor.
Use your Crestwood key for access.
What are the rules?
The rules are simple and posted in the gym. This is a community facility that should be used with respect for your neighbors.
Use of this fitness room is an acknowledgment that you are working out at your own risk and Crestwood and the HOA Board are not liable for any injuries or other results from using this facility. So when you are sporting a great beach bod because you’ve been hitting the Crestwood gym, that’s all yours, too. 😉
Each year the HOA Board budgets for maintenance and updates. To facilitate this project the volunteer Board did some of the work, found good values on contractors, and sought out good deals on gym equipment. These efforts made this new amenity possible with money already in the budget without an increase in HOA fees or an assesment.
This is just the first iteration of the Crestwood gym – call it our 1.0 gym. The HOA Board looks forward to working with the community on ways to best use this resource.
Hope to see you at the Crestwood gym!
